How to Take Better Photos for a Granny Flat, Cabin or Container Listing
Better photos can make a second-hand granny flat, container office, cabin or relocatable building much easier for buyers to trust and enquire about.
Note: Granny Flats 4U offers paid classified listings. Listings are reviewed before publishing and advertising does not guarantee a sale or enquiry volume.
When someone is comparing a granny flat, cabin, container studio or relocatable office online, photos do a lot of the early selling. The goal is not to make the building look perfect. The goal is to show it clearly, honestly and in a way that helps a buyer understand what they are looking at.
Start with the simple things
- Clean your phone or camera lens before you start.
- Take photos in daylight where possible.
- Tidy the building and remove loose clutter.
- Use landscape/wide photos instead of tight vertical screenshots.
- Stand back far enough to show the whole building.
Photos buyers usually want to see
- Front view
- Side and rear views
- Entry, deck, stairs or ramp if included
- Main room or living area
- Kitchenette, bathroom, furniture or storage if included
- Air conditioning, power points, plumbing or service connection points if relevant
- Any visible defects, damage, wear or areas needing repair
What to avoid
Avoid dark photos, blurry photos, heavy filters, zoomed-in screenshots and photos where the buyer cannot understand the size or layout. A good listing usually needs fewer clear photos rather than lots of confusing ones.
